Downpours

Love ravages me
as I swallow the night
and drown in
tropical downpours.

Feed upon my remains.
I am in you already.
I wear your arms and
you look through my eyes.

Poems flow like blood
from our mouths
through blisters of
a fierce longing,
past lips of desire.

Images fall as breaths
and we dance them
in night dreams.

When dawn comes,
we rise as birds
and fly into the sun.
